Lighting the way to a brighter future
We’re a unique Alternative Educational Provision…
At Torch Learning Centre (TLC) the Directors Nicki Henman and Lore McIntyre have provided an alternative educational provision for students that are experiencing difficulties within school.
TLC provides a range of educational and vocational options that are tailor made to meet the needs of the individual student but will also give the students a rounded curriculum that will secure entry to further education on completion of Yr.11 exams
Unique to Torch Learning Centre is our personal development driven programme (Enlightenment Learning) which is at the core of all Torch Learning Centre Curriculums.
*compared with an average attendance rate of just 47% at school
All Torch Learning Centre programmes run from our 5 year established training centre based in Irchester Village, Northants. Our fully-equipped centre is designed to provide a calming and supportive environment to enable our students to learn as effectively as possible.
Students will also have the opportunity to fundamentally challenge their barriers to learning with the qualified assistance of our Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.

TLC has given me more of an opportunity for another chance. It has a relaxed atmosphere and we get treated as equals, which is important.
I like it here because if I was in mainstream school I would have been kicked out by now. We get so much more support here.
